Monique Elwell brings 15 years of far-flung marketing, communication and consulting experience covering areas such as travel, leisure, Generation X, luxury and loyalty. Her diverse background and expertise feed into an in-depth understanding of the many motivations behind consumer wanderlust, leading to innovative business plans, pertinent products and value-driven communication strategies. Monique's layered analysis of consumer goals and expectations helps clients understand fundamental concepts like "who we are" and "where we come from" in answering essential category questions like "why we fly" and "where we go." She most recently held a Vice President, Consumer Strategist position at Iconoculture, a consumer insights and trend analysis firm, where she was responsible for the travel & leisure industry and the Generation X cohort. Before joining Iconoculture, Monique headed up investor relations for United Dominion Realty Trust, Inc., the fourth largest REIT and focused on marketing to retail investors. Prior to that, Monique spent four years as a freelance consultant specializing in marketing, financial and communication plans for travel and technology companies. In 1998, she founded Amisto.com, a planning and booking site that enabled do-it-yourself travelers to research organized, expert travel information, book locally owned hotels and activities, and connect with fellow in-the-know globetrotters. As president and CEO, Monique managed every arm of the business and collaborated to design a patent-pending Web and database presentation technology. Prior to Amisto.com, Monique worked as an equity analyst for bulge bracket investment banks (Smith Barney, UBS Securities and Merrill Lynch), covering the Internet and airline sectors. She finetuned her talent for matching apropos itineraries and experiences to unique clients and tastes as a concierge at the Ritz-Carlton. Her well-worn passport is peppered with stamps from around the world, including Cambodia, Syria and Guatemala. Monique can be reached via Monique@Monique.net. She lives in Denver, Colorado, but is available for work around the globe. |
